Account Manager

Job Description

To be successful as a sales Account Manager, you should demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, knowledge of CRM software, the ability to manage multiple tasks at once, superior customer service skills, strong business acumen, and adept problem-solving skills. A successful person in this role will have ability to speak over the phone and face to face with clients (employees within state agencies) and be a point of escalation for the project teams. The Account Manager will foster favorable relationships with existing clients, prepare new quotes, meet with in-house project teams, manage the sales cycle process, prepare sales reports, and manage the sales pipeline.

The Account Manager will be assigned an existing territory and clients to develop relationships, sell enhancement services and new business product offerings. Core responsibilities include maintaining client relationships, overseeing the sales process, generating incremental sales opportunities, and acting as primary point of contact.

 Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains mutually beneficial relationships with existing clients to increase revenue
  • Manages accounts and tracks account targets to secure long-term success.
  • Establishes good rapport with clients
  • Resolves customer issues/problems
  • Develops new sales opportunities
  • Meets regularly with internal project team and sits on status calls with clients.
  • Monitors sales and prepares reports on accounts and transactions.
  • Attends industry events, conferences, trade shows
  • Creates sales quotations on software enhancements and new business
  • Sustains and renews existing client contracts
  • Other duties, as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of sales metrics
  • Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Leverage experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals
  • Ability to multitask and think outside the box
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected
  • Knowledge of CRM software and MS Office
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Experience with software sales process a plus
  • Knowledge of principles with software as a service a plus

Education and Experience:

  • Business, marketing, or similar degree, preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in a sales position

**The annual base salary for this role is $40,000-$60,000 per year and is commensurate with experience. In addition to a base salary commission is earned on each client invoice received. Commission rates vary based on the service the client pays for. There is no cap on commissions, so earning potential is unlimited.
