The successful person for this role will have ability to take direction from their direct supervisor, respond to assigned tasks, and have a desire to be a well-rounded individual in terms of skill set. Person will work with a team of others on a project(s), following standards already in place for the application and development of system functionality.

Configuration Specialists typically complete a lot of form builds (using a suite of tools within our proprietary software), write error checks, test work for accuracy and that work meets design requirements. Configuration Specialists may also be required to work on Agate Software’s help desk, fielding calls from system users and assisting them.

Ideal candidate will be comfortable talking with others and on the phone if they wish to eventually become a project lead.

About the Job

  • Entry-Level Position to Mid-Level Position / 1-5 Years’ Experience

  • Provides technical support to team responsible for a subset of business systems applications

  • Translates business specifications into user documentation

  • Provides assistance in one or all areas of applications, including: testing, design and analysis

  • Plans, writes, and maintains systems and user support documentation

  • Answers help desk calls from system users, assisting them with requests (i.e., resetting passwords, site navigation, etc.)

  • Assists in the formulation of procedures and best practices for users of applications

  • Able to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing

  • Knowledge of basic networking principles, the internet, web browsers/browsing/caching/etc.

  • Knowledge of MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook) and web browsers

  • Other duties, as assigned

Education / Experience / Environment

Configuration Specialist I

  • May require an associate degree in a related area and 0-2 years of experience in computer science, web fundamentals, drafting business processes or related field

  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job

  • Works under immediate supervision

  • Typically reports to a Team Leader
